James has worked in various capacities with children and young people for over thirty years. He initiated and facilitated several lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans youth groups in London and the South East between 1994 and 2007, with a strong focus upon sexual health. In 1999 he co-founded the Allsorts Youth Project in Brighton & Hove. As a freelance trainer and consultant between 2007 and 2010 James was commissioned by East Sussex County Council and other services to lead professional training and develop learning tools for challenging homophobia in schools.
James has also worked extensively in the further and higher education sectors in Central London and the South East providing direct support and mentoring to students with mental health issues, specific learning difficulties and sensory impairments in order that they could access their studies in accordance with The Equalities Act.
In 2020 James returned to sexual health working for the METRO charity in Medway and Kent building positive working relationships with many schools, colleges and other services that work with young people.
Victoria started her career in private banking working with high net worth clients before moving into a career with the police. She worked for a number of years in the Kent Police Control Room before moving on to the British Transport Police and working as a manager for the Crime Management Unit. During this time Victoria studied for her Higher Diploma in Business.
After taking a six year career break to have a family, Victoria decided to take her career in a new direction. Since having children she has had a keen interest in sexual health so retrained and began working for Metro Charity in 2020 as the Lead for Sexual Health working with many schools, universities and youth groups to give young people a better understanding of their sexual health and healthy relationships.
Victoria has also worked with children on a volunteer basis. She has run children's choirs, assisted in youth clubs and worked at holiday camps for disadvantaged children both in the UK and abroad.
